BREEN STARSHIPS

Breen starships of various classes have been observed by Starfleet, but there is still much that is unknown regarding Breen ship technology.

Their starships use organic power cells in their distribution networks, which may explain their compact, contained construction.

The Breen also employ energy-dampening weapons aboard their ships that drain the energy of targetted ships,disabling their engines, weapons, and shields, thus making them easy targets for conventional quantum torpedoes (the Breen seem to eschew phased energy as a weapons platform). The energy-dampening weapons were particular effective in the First Dominion War sixty years ago, but it is not known how effective modern Breen weapons are. It is not something that Starfleet is especially eager to find out.
