Mission: The Uncertainty Principle

“Looking Back Through the Years”

(contd from ‘Never a Bad Time Here’)

**************************
Location: USS PHOENIX
SD: [2.19] 0518.2324
Scene: Yu’s personal quarters

Lieutenant Jasmine Yu stood up from the forest green coloured sofa and exhaled, ready for her upcoming shift. Her gaze moved around the room until they fixed on the painting, depicting the Huong, also known as the Perfume Pagoda, an ancient Vietnamese structure, on the wall. She smiled – her grandmother gave her the painting as a gift about seven years ago. Then she had a dawn of realization. She had been a Starfleet officer for seven years and was now thirty years old – well that meant her twenties were behind her.

The Phoenix had departed from the Wolf 1061 system, immediately after returning from null space. The tests on Lorraine Eden’s experimental transwarp conduit had failed and it was quite an unforgettable experience for the young woman – one that she was eager to put behind her. The young woman still couldn’t quite get over the experience of meeting her double from the other Phoenix. She had wondered for a brief moment whether she was the duplicate and her other was the original and then realized, since the other ship was no more, there was no point dwelling on it. But even though the other Phoenix was doomed from the start, she couldn’t help feel sad for the fallen crew and wished the outcome was different.

She let out a sigh, glancing at the visage of Earth through the window - home. Yu was looking forward to spending more time with her family. She did meet with her mother and grandmother, when the ship was docked at Utopia Planetia shipyards, not so long ago and was excited about seeing them again as both women were back on Earth. She hoped the shore leave would be long enough to give her time to visit her extended family and friends. Jasmine was thinking of first visiting her parents on Hawaii, her grandmother in Rochester and other relatives in San Francisco and New York as well as some friends.

“I wonder if the Camelot is docked,” she said to herself, referring to her old ship, USS CAMELOT. “Maybe, I can catch up with Meera. It’s been a while since I talked to her.” She strode to the computer terminal and sat down.

“Computer, is the USS CAMELOT currently docked at Spacedock.”

[[Negative,]] the computer intoned. [[At present, USS CAMELOT is not docked.]]

Jasmine sighed, realizing the ship was likely on a mission and might not return for some time and from what she remembered of her time there - that could be many months. Perhaps, she could catch up with her old friend at another time. Glancing back at the painting, Jasmine smiled, thinking back to the time, when she had graduated from the Academy and her first assignment.

Location: Runabout
Scene: Passenger Area
TI: Seven years ago

Jasmine inhaled in a deep breathe, trying to contain her excitement. Three weeks ago, she had underwent her graduation ceremony at the Academy, where she had spent the last four years – buried within PADDs and holo-recordings of coursework, wondering if she was ever going to come out. Eventually she did graduate. She inhaled and then exhaled again to calm down the butterflies in her stomach. When she first received her posting – a few days ago – she was over the moon but now she was only moments away, her nerves starting to take hold.

“Nervous?”

Yu blinked, turning forward and gave a weak smile, when the voice belonged to a human male with chocolate brown skin and from the aqua coloured collar, she guessed him to be medical. “A little I guess.”

“It’s understandable.” The other ensign nodded, seated across from her. “I think everyone here feels the same.”

Jasmine nodded, glancing around at the other new graduates travelling with her in the shuttle. There were five including her, belonging to different species. To her right sat a Benzite woman, the blue on her uniform marking her to be science. Next to the Benzite, adorned in gold like herself was an Ocampan male, so he could be part of Engineering, Operations, Flight or Security. Yu’s gaze moved forward and spotted a male Vulcan, sitting two rows down from the medical officer, reading from a PADD and also dressed in gold as well.

“I am nervous too,” the Benzite spoke in a quiet voice.

“I fail to see the logic of feeling any emotion such as nervousness,” the Vulcan responded, his voice containing no hint of emotion. “Our task is simple - check in at our assigned quarters, then go meet our superiors and begin working on our assigned tasks.”

“Not all of us are Vulcans,” the black man remarked in jest.

[[New Graduates, look out the window,]] came an announcement from the cockpit. [[We will be docking in less than one minute.]]

All the officers – even the stoic Vulcan – turned to look out through the window. Jasmine’s eyes widened, her mouth dropped open and her heart raced in awe of the sight before her. She fixed her gaze on a large starship’s saucer, looking to be coming closer as the runabout continued its approach towards it. She caught a quick glimpse of the lettering on the hull – USS CAMELOT NCC 20103 as the runabout began its descent towards the shuttle bay.

The hatch lifted open and Jasmine – the last one out – followed the other officers down the ramp and then walked across the room, passing by a number of crafts until the group stopped at the main doors. Standing there was a tall Bajoran man with a slim build, holding a bunch of PADDs in one hand and tugging at his gold collar with the other. He eyed the new arrivals with scrutiny.

“Welcome, new graduates,” he greeted in a crisp, high pitched voice. “Hope you had a pleasant journey and we apologize for being unable to beam you directly from Earth.” He inhaled deeply, his forehead creasing. “As you can see, all our transporters are undergoing routine maintenance, which is expected to be complete by tomorrow morning.”

Jasmine shrugged. If she had used the transporters, then she wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the view of the ship’s exterior and for that she was grateful. She watched the Bajoran distributing the PADDs to them. As she received hers, Yu began immediately browsing through its contents.

“The PADD contains all the information you need to settle in,” he informed. “Good luck, everyone.” Then he walked away, leaving the five new Ensigns alone.

Jasmine sighed. “I’ll just check in first at my quarters to just drop my stuff before I report to the department.”

---------------------------

Scene: Turbo lift -> Security Department, Deck 25

After dropping her stuff off in the new quarters, Jasmine made her way down to the security department to report for duty. She would unpack later when she got off her shift. The young woman leaned against the wall, having the lift all to herself and was gathering her thoughts. When the turbo lift halted at deck 25, Yu exhaled. **Well, here goes. ** The turbo lift doors parted and the newly assigned assistant security and tactical officer stepped out one foot at a time. She had arrived in the security department, which spanned two levels.
Sighing, Jasmine began walking down the corridor, passing by various personnel. She swallowed a lump, feeling her stomach acids churn as all eyes seemed to be on her and even noticed a pair whispering and glancing in her direction. The raven haired woman sighed, making her way towards the chief’s office. When she reached a set of double doors at the end of the hallway, she pressed the door chime.

[[Come in,]] a calm male voice responded.

The doors parted and the Asian woman entered a large room, comprising of two or three work stations that lined up one side of the wall. A wide, oval-shaped rectangular table - charcoal coloured with a metallic sheen – stood in the centre. Jasmine circled around the table, noticing all the workstations were currently empty and headed towards the chief’s office – separated from the rest of the room by a tritanium door and clear front wall. A tall humanoid male was spotted approaching the wall and waved at her.

Jasmine nodded and the doors parted at her approach, permitting her inside the office. She paused and then stood in attention, clutching the PADD in one hand as she watched the man approach her. The Asian observed him to be tall, standing at around 5’10” with a lean athletic physique and looked to be in his late thirties. He had dark blonde hair in the style of a buzz cut and pale blue eyes.

“Ensign Yu, I’m Commander Matthew Haley,” he greeted, wearing a friendly smile. “Welcome aboard…” He noticed her stiff posture. “You can relax as this is not the bridge and I’m not the Captain so you don’t have to be formal in here.”

Jasmine sighed, feeling her muscles relax. “Thank you, sir.”

“Come on.” He walked past her, nodding towards the door. “I’ll give you a tour of the department and then the ship before I assign your first task.”

Jasmine nodded, following the chief out of the office and back into the main room. She let out a sigh of relief. **Well, that wasn’t so bad and the chief seemed welcoming. **

---------------------

Scene: Mess Hall, Deck 23
TI: Three hours later

Following the tour, Haley had handed her a few tasks – all fairly straightforward and Jasmine was able to complete them in a timely manner. Then the Chief told her she could have about thirty minutes for lunch and return for more jobs. Jasmine sighed, entering the ship’s mess hall and made her way to one of the many replicators lining up the wall on one side of a large room. Yu gave a quick glance behind her shoulder and found the dining area made up the other side below the windows.

She stopped at one of the replicators and pondered for a moment. “Computer, a plate of quinoa salad and a glass of water at room temperature.” There was a lounge in one of the Promenade level decks – a café, run by a chef and a full kitchen staff. Maybe she could go there for dinner and have real food.

[[There are over 100 varieties of quinoa salad. Please make a selection,]] the computer intoned.

“100 varieties? I should have been specific.” She sighed. “I just want a quinoa salad with vegetables, plus extra chickpeas and cucumbers and lemon vinaigrette dressing.” A moment later, a tray materialized in the window, holding her orders. Jasmine picked up the tray and turned to her right, when her expression brightened. “Meera?”

A human woman with distinct South Asian features, turned at the sound of her name. She was about three inches shorter than Jasmine and had jet black hair, tied in a single braid at the back. When her gaze fell on Yu, her expression warmed and a smile formed across her lips. “Jasmine, when did you arrive? I heard from my mom that you were posted here but didn’t say when you’d be coming aboard.” The two gold pips and a hollow one on her gold collar, indicated the woman’s rank to be Lieutenant Commander.

Meera Song was the Camelot’s Chief Engineer and an old friend of Yu. Both Jasmine’s and Meera’s mothers were Starfleet engineers and colleagues at Utopia Planetia, having collaborated on numerous projects together and it was through this connection, Jasmine and Meera had forged a long-lasting friendship.

“I arrived this morning,” Jasmine replied. “I was planning on calling you up after my shift but I’m glad to have caught you here, which means we can have lunch together and catch up.”

“I’d love that.” Meera nodded before making her order. “Computer, a plate of vegetable fried rice dressed in Manchurian sauce, sweet potato fries with aioli dipping sauce and a chocolate milkshake.”

Yu raised an eyebrow at the milkshake order. “Everything okay, Meera?”

“Everything’s Fine.” Meera shrugged, collecting her tray. “Okay, let us go find a place to sit.” The two women made their way past a couple of tables until they found an empty one by the corner. They set their trays first and sat down opposite each other.

As Jasmine began eating, she eyed Meera with concern. Although they were five years apart, they shared a close friendship. “Look,” she began. “I can tell something’s not right as you usually don’t have a milkshake unless you’re upset.”

Song sighed, setting her spoon down as she grabbed a couple of fries and dipped them in the sauce. “I don’t want to spoil your first day by talking about my problems.”

“You won’t be,” she said, assuring her. “We have been friends like forever.”

“Okay.” Meera inhaled in a deep breath and then exhaled. “It all started this morning, when I began my shift and the Captain summoned me to the Ready Room at 0715hrs no less. I haven’t even finished my morning tea yet.” She sighed, taking a spoonful of rice and drank a bit of the milkshake. “I have been put on notice.”

“Notice?” Jasmine arched her brow.

“If I my performance does not improve, then I will either be demoted to assistant or transferred back to the shipyards.” She let out a sigh of frustration, sporting a grim expression. “I have been put on probation till the end of our next mission.”

“I don’t understand.” Jasmine put her fork down and sipped from her glass of water. “You have been a department head during the war and everything was fine then.”

“Not really true,” Meera’s voice lowered to a quiet whisper. “The real reason I decided to transfer to the shipyards following the war, was because I was broken completely – my confidence in tatters.” She swallowed a lump, closing her eyes for a moment before reopening them. “I needed to be somewhere where I could recover and regain my love for engineering. For over two years, I was fine and even comfortable, after all life at the shipyards is a lot less intense compared to a starship.” She slurped on her milkshake. “And my mother was there with me, though it was your mom who was my immediate superior. So you can imagine how easy my life was there.”

“Meera, my mom had nothing but praise for your work.” Jasmine nodded, taking in more salad and felt her heart break for the engineer. “She always told me what a talented and hardworking engineer you are and coming from her, that’s high praise.” The Asian knew how strict her mother was with her team – always expecting them to function at their best and had high standards.

“Funny, the Captain said the same thing…that I was an exceptional engineer, talented, dedicated but…” She sighed again, her shoulders slumped and on the verge of tears. “My leadership ability has a lot to be desired and that I lack the confidence to be an effective department head.”

“I don’t get it,” Jasmine said. “You started out as assistant on the USS COMMENDATION. A year later, you got assigned as Chief Engineer on the USS PATRIOT and two starships after that and this was all during the war.”

“Yes.” Meera sighed. “I was the Camelot’s Chief Engineer before I left to go work in the shipyards. How naïve to think I could just ease right back into the position again.” She then murmured with a hint of regret in her voice. “Maybe I never should have left Mars after all it is my home.” She placed her spoon down. Meera was born and raised on Mars so was a familiar presence on the shipyards, having spent time there with her mother, since she was a child. Jasmine remembered hearing stories about how her friend attempted to help around with little tasks and fiddling with some of the tools – deemed safe to use. “If only I hadn’t listened to that assistant of mine, then I wouldn’t have been in this position.”

“Assistant?”

“During our last mission, I had initially made a decision that I believed was the right one,” Meera began. “Then in front of the whole staff, one of my assistants challenged the decision, suggesting an alternate solution and I…caved into his challenge, probably because I had this fear that the other engineers supported him more than me.” She then moaned, her black eyes welling with tears. “I let my insecurities get the better of me and he knows where to push my buttons.”

“You told the Captain all this?”

“Most of it and I received a stern lecture…” She drank more milkshake. “She believed my initial decision was the correct one and it was irresponsible of me to allow myself to be bullied by a subordinate only to wind up making the wrong one in the end – a decision that would have led to critical damage to one-third of the ship.” She sighed, looking downwards. “Fortunately, the Captain managed to quickly override my horrible decision with a better one and prevented a disaster. Not surprising, considering she had started out her career in engineering.”

“Look Meera, you are smart and capable.” Jasmine placed her fork down. “And I believe in you.”

“Thank you.” The engineer produced a tiny smile. “I had a chat with the ExO as well and he promised to help me plus I’m scheduled to see the Counselor at the end of the day.”

“Well…” She was interrupted at the sound of giggling and whispers, mentioning her friend and from noticing Meera’s paled expression, Jasmine figured other woman did too. She sighed, when Meera bent her head to hide her face and her posture stiffened.

Jasmine glanced around and spotted a group of officers chatting at the next table. She noticed two of them were sending quick glances in Meera’s direction. But the chattiest one was a young human woman with pale skin and strawberry blonde locks that dangled when her head moved. Yu noted she was adorned in gold like Song and herself.

“Rumour has it,” said the chatterbox in a low whisper. “He will finally get the Chief Engineer spot that he rightfully deserved. Honestly, Song should have stayed with her mommy.” She paused, giving Meera and Jasmine a sidelong glance – her smug expression rather ingratiating. “I mean he tried to tell that woman her decision was wrong but then Song’s pride overrode her common sense, forcing the Captain to step in and prevent the ship from getting destroyed.”

“He is lying to everyone,” Meera said, her expression darkening but out of the other table’s earshot. “I guess he’d do anything to get my job and really does believe I stole it from him.”

Jasmine frowned as she glanced at the other table. Meera didn’t deserve this treatment in her opinion and gossiping behind one’s back was so immature. Then her lunch got a little more interesting.

“Ensign, I see you’re busy being a gossip as usual.”

At the sound of the new female voice, Jasmine held her fork down and glanced in the direction of the other table. Jasmine noticed a human woman approaching them, carrying a sandwich wrap and an apple in one hand. The new arrival seemed to be in her late twenties, stood at around 5’8” tall with shoulder length brown hair, tied in a ponytail and intense green eyes that seemed to stare right through you. The two gold pips and one hollow one on her gold collar seemed to indicate she held the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

“Commander…” It looked like the cat got her tongue as the chatterbox was lost for words and her mouth hung open. A moment ago, she was spreading gossip with such gusto and now after the Lt. Commander arrived on scene, she had nothing to say. “I…didn’t see you there.”

“When was your break over?” The new arrival spoke in a calm voice, using an authoritative tone. “Well, according to the chronometer, exactly five minutes and forty-eight seconds ago.”

Jasmine smiled and couldn’t help herself from being amused with the whole situation. She took another spoonful of the salad and followed it with a sip of water.

“Well…Commander,” the Ensign stammered, biting her lip and twiddling her thumbs. “I…” She glanced around, her eyes widening as all eyes in the room were on her.

“Break’s over. Return to duty,” the Commander ordered. “Those cargo manifests aren’t going to sort themselves out.”

“But I haven’t finished eating…” She glanced behind her and found the rest of her group had their heads down, focusing on their food. They had no desire on getting involved so she was on her own.

“Well, you should have thought of that when you were spreading malicious gossip.” The commander’s voice was stern and a moment of silence passed between them. “Now, hop to it.” At the command, the Ensign turned around and scurried away. The senior officer then turned around and began heading towards Jasmine and Meera’s table.

“Hey Meera,” the officer greeted, pulling a strand of hair behind her ear. Jasmine noticed her tone softened. “Look, I will deal with that Ensign and make sure she never repeats this behaviour again.”

“Thanks Azula,” came a weak reply from the engineer.

“I heard what happened with the Captain,” the other Lt. Commander brought up.

“News do spread around here like wildfire,” Meera said in a dry tone.

“No, I heard it from Commander Grimbuir,” she said in an assuring tone. “He is concerned and so am I.”

Jasmine recalled from the manifest that Commander Meowi Grimbuir was the ship’s ExO and a Caitian male. She hadn’t met him and the Captain yet – both apparently away from the ship for the day. The human woman, talking to Meera, was Azula Sol, the Chief of Operations.

“And for what it’s worth,” Sol said. “If the worst happened – not saying it will- and you got demoted, the Captain will never promote Lieutenant Kapoor to replace you so that rumour is one hundred percent false and I’m positive on that.”

“Hope you are right.” Meera sighed.

“Despite what he thinks, you were not the reason he didn’t get the Chief Engineer post that he has been shamelessly coveting.” Sol paused to inhale. “The Captain sees through BS and that guy is full of it.”

“Right.” Meera sighed.

“Anyway, can’t stay around as I got to return to the bridge,” the other woman informed, turning around to leave. “Since the CO and ExO aren’t around, I’m left to hold down the fort.” She quickly left without as much as a glance at Yu.

As Jasmine continued to eat, she noticed at the corner of her eye, someone watching her from a distance – a tall man in gold uniform, waiting by the replicator. From the ridges on the bridge of his nose and the markings on the sides of his face and neck, he was a Bajoran/Trill hybrid. She then shrugged and continued on with her meal.

-------------------------------

Scene: Security Department
TI: Several hours later

Jasmine was nearing the end of her shift and sighed – what a first day it was. After returning from lunch, Haley gave her more tasks and those ones were more challenging – not that she minded. In fact, Jasmine felt grateful the Chief had enough confidence in her abilities to give her harder jobs on her first day. Not a bad day, overall and the Asian was looking forward to her time on the Camelot.

“Ensign Yu,” came a stern, unfamiliar male voice from behind.

Jasmine turned around and stood facing the same Trill/Bajoran hybrid, she had spotted at the mess hall during lunch. “Yes?”

“Yes sir,” the man insisted, pointing at the two gold pips on his collar. “I outrank you.”

“Sir, how can I help you?”

“Ensign,” he began in a crisp voice, sporting a dour expression. “I am Lieutenant Cato Amaun and the *senior* assistant chief of security and tactical officer.”

“Please to meet you, Lieutenant Cato.” Jasmine wasn’t sure whether Cato or Amaun was his last name so just went with her gut. Fortunately for her, she was right. Being part-Bajoran, he had chosen to use that culture’s naming tradition – last name first, followed by the given name.

“Welcome, Ensign and I hope you measure up to the high expectations placed on every officer on this ship.”

“I will do my best, sir.”

“And Ensign, a piece of friendly advice,” he said in a slightly condescending tone. “Just because you got to have lunch with a member of the senior staff, it doesn’t mean you are special so don’t get any hopes up about jumping ahead of those who have been serving here longer than you.”

**I wasn’t. Meera is an old friend. ** The words never came out of her mouth as she stood in stunned silence. She wasn’t attempting to curry favour with senior officers to get ahead and wondered how such an innocent lunch turned out to be a problem for the Bajoran hybrid.

[[Bridge to Lieutenant Cato.]] It was Lt. Commander Sol.

“Cato here.”

[[We have received a report that Ensign Gant’s cat went missing a few minutes ago.]]

“Ensign Gant, one of the transporter operators?”

[[Yes. Get someone on this and find that cat as soon as possible. I don’t want to remind you that the Captain’s shuttle is due to arrive from Earth in the next twenty minutes.]]

“Understood, Commander. I’ll get right to it. Cato out.” He turned to the Asian woman. “Lieutenant, go find that cat.”

**My shift’s almost over in five minutes. ** But she said nothing and just nodded. “Yes sir.”

“I need not remind you, Ensign that this assignment is of utmost urgency.” He made an emphasis on her rank as if to show who was in charge here. “You have twenty minutes to find that cat otherwise we are going to be in big trouble when the Captain arrives, only to find an animal roaming around her ship. You can only imagine how badly that would reflect on this department.”

“Understood, sir.” Jasmine rushed out of the room.

------------------

Scene: Corridor, Deck 1
TI: Fifteen minutes later

“Glad I found you with five minutes to spare,” Jasmine spoke in a soft voice, struggling to hold a rather chubby British shorthair with cream coloured fur in her arms. A young cat, looking to be around one or two years old, it was also a little restless and unhappy about being carried around. It kept letting out a series of loud meows. “Sorry, can’t put you down until we reach security. We don’t want you running away, don’t we?” Her response was another angry meow.

She walked down the corridor, increasing her pace and stopped in front of the turbo lift, taking a deep breathe. The cat seemed quite heavy in her arms and continued to be fussy by meowing and hissing at anyone passing by them.

The turbo lift arrived and when the doors parted, the cat caused a bit of a commotion, meowing angrily and with its paw, knocked a PADD out of someone’s hand as he or she was about to step off the lift. The PADD dropped to the floor, a few feet away and Jasmine, without looking at the person, bent down to pick it – all the while making sure the cat didn’t jump out of her arms. She quickly returned the PADD to its owner without looking up. “I am sorry,” Jasmine said in a hurry. “But I have to return the cat before the Captain returns.”

The cat hissed and then meowed at the other person just as Yu rushed inside the lift to avoid further embarrassment. The doors closed behind her.

“Deck 25.” The turbo lift began moving and she let out a sigh of relief though the cat continued squirming and fussing. When the doors had slid shut, she was facing the wall so didn’t really get to see the person, which she’d soon regret the next day. Had she bothered to turn around or even look up, she would have been really embarrassed and even spend the whole night, worrying about her Starfleet career. But she had managed to sleep soundly that night because in her haste to get the cat into the lift, she hadn’t bothered to notice the individual was a Trill woman and there were four gold pips on her red collar.

TI: Present

Jasmine sighed – yes that first day was rather eventful in the end. When she had found out the next day, it was the Captain that the cat had troubled, she had become truly concerned for her career in Starfleet for a while. Her relationship with Spankryz started out rather bumpy but had slowly improved over the years. In fact, after five years serving on the Camelot, she got transferred to the Phoenix to take over the Chief of Security and Tactical post. Those five years at the Excalibur class vessel were formative in her development as Starfleet officer. She had fond memories of her time there but there were periods, especially prior to and during the Neo-Essentialist crisis that was very challenging for her. Yu had often wondered how she had managed to survive those times.

Compared to her first day on the Camelot, it was smooth sailing for her on the Phoenix – well nearly as she ended up getting stuck in the holodeck with the other senior staff members and meeting her colleagues for the first time as holograms was rather an awkward experience. Her first meeting with Kane went better than she had expected and so far, there hadn’t been any issues in her relationship with her current CO. The young woman did wish she had arrived by shuttle instead of using the transporters. Then, perhaps, she might have been able to enjoy the view of the warship from the outside.

Jasmine’s ears picked up sounds of scraping outside her door and walked towards it. When the doors parted, her lips curled into a warm smile as her gaze moved downwards and fixed on the ship’s resident pug. “Well, what are you doing up here so early in the morning?”

Smooshy gazed back at her with his big, brown, adorable eyes that made most hearts melt and make many go, ‘aww, how cute.’ Well, there were some exceptions and Yu suddenly froze, tilting her head to one side and then another.

“Okay, Smooshy,” she spoke in a soft yet firm voice. “I will have to take you back to sickbay. You really shouldn’t have come up here, you know.” No response, except a stare and whimper. She patted him on the head and then began moving down the corridor. The pug followed suit. “Do you know the Captain lives behind one of these doors?”

Another whimper and soon they reached the turbo lift.

“It wouldn’t be good for you if he suddenly stepped out of his quarters and found you roaming around here.” She tugged at her red collar, feeling a little nervous, glancing around, when the turbo lift arrived. Both the dog and human stepped inside. “Deck 12.” The doors closed and Yu saw no sign of anyone approaching the lift. She let out a chuckle, when Smooshy began yapping happily and wagging his curled tail.

NRPG: Well, I managed to fit a cat and a dog in this post :) I am going to do a series of posts that covers Jasmine’s backstory – her time before joining the Phoenix, where I’m hoping will provide more insight into her character and where she started and how she came to be who she is in the present. The posts will be written in between missions and will not be chronicling each day of Jasmine’s time at the Camelot so I will be jumping around in time to cover the important aspects. Some of my other characters (both past and my other current character) will make appearances. You have already met Meera Song in this post. I wrote for her as a second character on the PATRIOT in 2008-2009 before I departed from the game. If you are reading my current Section 31 story, you may find some of the Camelot NPC characters to be familiar to you.
