Physical Description		Standing still, Zachary is the image of a typical Starfleet officer: square footing, upright posture, and trim physique. His movements and mannerisms, however, have a graceful nuance owing to two years of cultural immersion on the highly empathic Deltan homeworld. One look is all it takes to confirm Zachary's mixed heritage. While his facial features are distinctly (Earth) pan-asian, like most Deltans, his head is completely devoid of hair, save for his eyebrows. His eyes have an intent, penetrating gaze, making him seem more serious than he actually is.

Personal History		Born in San Francisco to a Starfleet officer and the daughter of a Starfleet officer, Zachary's eventual career choice was inevitable. Throughout his childhood and adolescent years he was a consistent high achiever, both in school and in extra-curricular pursuits. His personal life, however, was less smooth: he often struggled to reconcile the norms of his human upbringing with the complexities of his developing Deltan physiology. In 2414 Zachary entered Starfleet Academy where he continued to excel. In his final year, he earned acceptance into the Advanced Command Training program, from which he graduated 2nd in his class. His first posting was to the USS Prophecy: a classified ship whose mandate was to explore alternate dimensions. As a newly minted Ensign thrust into the position of Assistant Security Chief, he often over-worked as a way of compensating for his lack of experience. The responsibility of leadership - coupled with the wildly unpredictable nature of dimensional travel - pushed him far outside his comfort zone, but he rose to the challenge despite his insecurities. Eventually he was reassigned as Ship's Counsellor as part of a personnel shuffle - a position more suited to his personality, which he held until his promotion and transfer to the USS Eidolon. Zachary's tenure aboard the Eidolon was brief but eventful. His first mission with the Eidolon crew was the full-scale rescue and relief of the planet Ba'ku, whose core had become unstable. Though they ultimately succeeded in preventing the planet's destruction, the damage done to the Ba'ku people and their culture was so severe that he grappled with the empathic fallout for days after the mission's end. Next, the Eidolon was assigned to escort a trade convoy through the transport lane known as "Hell's Throat". En route the convoy was ambushed by the Orion Syndicate; despite valiant efforts to repel the pirates, the Eidolon along with two-thirds of its crew were lost in combat - including one of the senior officers. In the aftermath of the incident, Zachary was posted to the famed USS Discovery under Captain Michael Kane. However, the sheer amount of empathic trauma he'd been exposed to as the Eidolon's Counsellor weighed on him. By early 2421 he was struggling to perform his duties, so he reluctantly took leave from Starfleet in order to reconnect with his Deltan heritage and do some much-needed soul searching. Zachary's return to duty in 2423 came with a new sense of purpose. Living amongst the highly empathic Deltans had not only healed his wounds and put old demons to rest, but it had also enlightened him to the broader cultural and political landscape of the Federation. His sense of adventure had given way to a more mature conviction, and he was assigned as diplomatic liaison to the Delta System with the reinstated rank of Lieutenant.
